Refund Policy
Effective Date: September 27, 2026
StashWhisper uses a "try before you buy" model. Before purchasing a Pro license, you get three (3) complete free sessions to evaluate the Software and decide whether it fits your needs.
Microsoft handles Pro refunds, not us
StashWhisper is sold exclusively through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft is the merchant of record for your Pro license purchase: it processes the payment, delivers the license, and decides refund eligibility under its own Terms of Sale — not under a policy we set. This page explains our free trial and tells you where to go for a Microsoft Store refund; it does not create separate StashWhisper refund terms that override Microsoft's.
1. Free Trial
The free trial provides three complete sessions at no charge, directly inside the app, with no payment information required. We encourage you to use the trial to test transcription quality and compatibility with your own hardware before purchasing a Pro license.
2. Pro License Purchases (via Microsoft Store)
When you buy a StashWhisper Pro license, the transaction — payment, delivery, and license entitlement — is carried out entirely by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft Store. We do not process your payment and do not independently decide whether a given purchase is refundable.
Refund eligibility, any applicable time window, and the request process are set by Microsoft and described in the Microsoft Store Terms of Sale and Microsoft's support article, "Get a refund for apps and games purchased from Microsoft Store." As a general rule, Microsoft treats digital goods like apps as non-refundable once delivered, unless the specific offer or applicable law makes you eligible — for example, mandatory consumer withdrawal rights that some jurisdictions grant regardless of Microsoft's general policy. We don't set or control this eligibility, and we deliberately don't restate a specific refund window here, since Microsoft's own terms — not this page — are authoritative and can change.
3. How to Request a Refund
Refund requests for a Pro license go to Microsoft, not to us — we have no ability to authorize or process a Microsoft Store refund ourselves. Sign in with the Microsoft account you used to purchase and open your order/purchase history (for example, via "Manage your payments" at account.microsoft.com) to start a refund request, or follow the current steps in the Microsoft support article linked in Section 2.
4. Mandatory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this page, or in Microsoft's general Store policy, excludes or limits any consumer right that cannot legally be waived where you live — including any mandatory right of withdrawal, refund, or replacement that applicable consumer-protection law grants you. Such a right may exist alongside, and independently of, Microsoft's own refund process.
5. Duplicate or Accidental Purchases
If you believe you accidentally purchased the same license multiple times, first check your Microsoft account's order history, since Microsoft holds the billing records for the transaction. Contact us as well if you'd like — we're glad to help you figure out what happened, even though Microsoft ultimately processes the refund.
6. Technical Problems
If you experience a technical problem — for example, StashWhisper does not run because your computer does not meet the RAM requirement described in our Terms of Service — contact us first. We will make reasonable efforts to investigate reproducible issues and help you resolve them. If the problem can't be resolved and you want a refund, you'll still request it through Microsoft as described above; we're happy to confirm the technical facts of your case if Microsoft asks for them as part of your request.
7. Contact
For technical problems, questions about the free trial, or general purchase questions: [email protected]. For the refund itself, use Microsoft's own process described in Section 3.
